Weekly Classes

Sundays @ Mind-Body Sanctuary
10 - 11 am             Yang Style Tai Chi - Long Form , $180, begins Jan. 14th

Taiji (also spelled Tai Chi) is a great way to study and learn how to embody change. Sense the dynamics of stillness and movement, grounding and fluidity and yin and yang: the fundamental reflection of natural cycles of opposition and interdependence. Gradually learn how to internalize these cycles allowing for balance and connection. Yang style is characterized by its slow, steady pace. It is an ideal way to find your ‘inner tortoise’ while working your legs hard, softening chronic tension patterns and coaxing the mind to give you a break from the constant chatter of a hectic life.

11 - 12 pm             NEW Biweekly: MELT or Tai Chi Sensing & Push Hands, $100 5 classes, $25 drop in

MELT on Jan. 14 & 28, Feb 11 & 25 and Mar. 11
The MELT Method is a simple self-care treatment using soft balls and a soft body roller to reduce the negative effects of aging and an active life. MELT helps restore fluidity, flexibility and relieves pain by reducing connective tissue dehydration. You’ll learn to easily support your own resilience, reduce and prevent pain, improve athletic performance and reduce recovery time—for all ages & fitness levels.

Push Hands on Jan. 21, Feb 4 & 18 and Mar. 18
Make sense of Taiji with fun, interactive and engaging drills that are the natural extension of solo form study and help support one’s true understanding of centering and connecting within a non-competitive, non-aggressive context. We mostly laugh! Learn how to listen to your partner and stay centered at the same time. Through basic drills & moving step pattern we study how to ‘Stick,’ ‘Listen,’ ’Understand,’ ‘Receive’ and ‘Neutralize’ while staying connected to our partner and keeping the nervous system in balance.
